ice blue dial
The ice blue dial is an understated and exclusive signature of Rolex platinum watches. Rolex uses platinum, the most precious metal for its finest watches.
Tachymeter
A major feature of the model is the bezel engraved with a tachymeter scale for measuring up to 400 miles per hour or average speed. Combining high tech with sophisticated aesthetics, the black bezel is reminiscent of the 1965 model with its black Plexiglas bezel insert. The new monobloc Cerachrom bezel, made of high-tech ceramic, offers many advantages, such as excellent corrosion and scratch resistance and insensitivity to UV rays. The highly durable bezel also features a PVD (physical vapor deposition) process that provides exceptional legibility with its graduations coated with a thin layer of platinum. The monobloc Cerachrom bezel is molded in one piece, firmly fixing the crystal to the middle case and guaranteeing water resistance.

platinum
Platinum, the most sublime metal, is rare and precious, and its silvery whiteness and brilliant luster are very impressive. As one of the densest and heaviest metals in the world, platinum has unique chemical and physical properties, including outstanding corrosion resistance. On the other hand, it also possesses contradictory properties of being soft, flexible, and malleable, making it extremely difficult to machine and polish, requiring an extremely high level of skill. Rolex usually uses 950 platinum. It is an alloy containing 950‰ (parts per thousand) of platinum, carefully crafted by Rolex's master metalworkers. The finest metals for the finest watches.
