fluted bezel
The Rolex Fluted Bezel is a symbol of excellence. Originally, the notches on the Oyster bezel had a functional purpose, screwing the bezel onto the case and ensuring the water resistance of the watch. The indentation was therefore also applied to the back case, which was screwed into the case using a unique Rolex tool for the same reason of maintaining water resistance. Over time, the bezel notch became a design element and a Rolex symbol. Today, the fluted bezel is a symbol of excellence and is produced exclusively in gold.
